Business Plans and Pitch Decks for Start-ups and SMEs

@fnet Consulting writes business plans and pitch decks for start-ups and growing businesses, from our base in Midrand, Gauteng. We research the market, shape the strategy and tell the story clearly. Financial projections come from your accountant or financial adviser, and we build the plan around them so the words and the numbers match.

What makes a business plan convincing

Whoever reads your business plan, whether a bank, an investor, a partner or your own team, wants a few questions answered: is there a real market, why will customers choose you, can this team deliver and what happens next? A plan that answers those clearly gets a serious hearing.

We focus on the parts that make or break that case: the market research, the strategy, how the business will win and serve customers, and how it will operate as it grows. The financial projections belong with your accountant or financial adviser. We work alongside them, so the plan and the numbers tell the same story.

A plan is not only for outsiders. Turned into an annual plan with priorities, targets and owners, it gives an established business a way to decide what matters this year and to check progress every quarter.

When businesses call us

  • A bank or programme asks for a plan

An application needs a business plan, and you want it to read clearly and convincingly.

  • Pitching to investors or partners

You need a deck that tells the story in a meeting, and a plan behind it.

  • Planning the year ahead

An established business needs priorities and targets everyone works to.

How it works

Four steps. One person accountable.

  1. Step 1

    Assess

A discovery session on the business, your goals and who will read the plan.

  2. Step 2

    Quote

You get a fixed price for the plan and deck, with a timeline.

  3. Step 3

    Deliver

We research and write the plan, working with your accountant on the financial section.

  4. Step 4

    Support

We rehearse the pitch with you and update the plan as the business changes.

Questions

Do you prepare financial projections?

No. Financial projections and statements should come from your accountant or a financial adviser. We work alongside them, so the plan and the numbers tell the same story, and we recommend involving them early.

What is the difference between a business plan and a pitch deck?

The business plan is the full document, with the detail behind your case. The pitch deck is the short visual story you present in a meeting. Most investors want the deck first and the plan once they are interested, so it pays to have both.

Do you write the pitch deck as well?

Yes. The deck is built from the same plan, so the story is consistent. Most investor decks work best at around 10 to 15 slides.
